Essay topics:

A teacher's ability to relate well with students is more important than excellent knowledge of the subject being taught.

In my opinion, teaching is a gift. I always had a professor who was memorable to me. When I knew that I would have a professor’s class which I liked, I used to go to school or university happier. I strongly believe that a teacher’s ability to relate well with student is more important than excellent knowledge of the subject being taught. I have three different reasons to support this thought.

First of all, the students are different from each other. For example, some may find it easy to learn Math. On the other hand, others may find easier to learn History. The professor’s role in this situation is to know how to teach differently a subject to make everyone understand. The most important is that all students learn, not a small group. That is why the professor’s ability to relate well is supposed to be important.

In addition to this positive effect, students used to enjoy and learn more with professors who have ability to relate well with them. An excellent knowledge of the subject being taught by professors is important, but the way how it is related is more important. Furthermore, skilled professors are able to encourage students to follow their careers, helping to increase the number of professors and researches.

Nowadays, the world changes rapidly with the technology and internet. Everyone is connected the whole day. Students can find answers on Google in a matter of seconds. Good professors have to improve themselves to follow these changes. There are some different ways to relate with students using technology in order to make them pay more attention to the subject. For example, professors are using tools such as Power Point classes; online classes for those who live far from the school or university and online chats to students ask questions out of class. The best option to choose is up to professors and their ability to teach is essential.

A question has been raised whether a professor’s ability to relate well with students is more important than excellent knowledge of the subject being taught. The students are different from each and the professor’s ability to teach is so important to make them enjoy the class. Also, professors should look for the best way to use technology tools in order to follow world changes. That is why I agree with the statement.
