While the passage discusses the advantages of professors appearing on television the lecture posed a different point of view

First, The passage claims that professors who speak publicly on television gain reputation as authorities in the university. In addition, knowledge presented can reach a broader audience rather than holding it restricted only to scholars. On the other hand, lecture exhibit disadvantages towards the same idea. For example, the professors can be perceived as unprofessional and not serious towards his/her research resulting in shunning from essential conferences or meetings.

Second, the passage illustrates that professors' apprearing on television would boost the positive publicity of the university which would elevate the donations and applications from potential students On the contrary, the lecture assets a dismissive opinion wherein the speaker claims that appearing on television and presenting knowledge is a time consuming process which includes travel time, preparation time, time required to look good which sums up to a significant number. This time can instead be utilized to invest in the research, interacting with students or supporting university business.

Third, the passage show advantages that a viewer acquire from such appearances. The viewers normally do not get access to the pool of knowledge that professor possesses while on television people will be able to absorb some amount from listening.
