TPO43 - agnostids and related theories
The reading claims that there are three theories about agnostids which are categorized in marine animals group and their fossils had been found in rocks. Based on some evidence (uncountable) of fossils' records, agnostids are so similar to arthropods. However, lecturer refutes the evidence by some prominent reasons.
The first, Reading explains the theory of free-swimming predator in which agnostids are the predators that hunted small animals based on the same feature as arthropods which are so fast swimmers’ predator. On the contrary, the lecturer rejects this theory by explaining that arthropods have large well-developed eyes, unlike agnostids that were blind and could not swim in the ocean.
The second theory which reading explains is the seafloor dwellers which is the life’s way of primitive arthropodos that makes possible agnostids lived in this way too. Conversely, the lecturer takes the view that they didn't have the ability to move fast in a large distance.
The third one is that agnostids might live on the feeding off large animals such as fleas, ticks and mites. However, the lecturer claims that their population was not large and they were a small group of animals.
