The line graph below shows the household recycling rates in three different countries between 2005 and 2015.
The graph illustrates how the rates of the household recycling varied in three different countries over a period of 10 years. It’s obvious to see that the UK and Germany did remarkably on recycling during the period from 2005 to 2015, and the recycling rate in France declined for nearly a decade before a rise afterward.
As manifested in the graph, in France, the rate was 50% in 2005, indicating that families did great waste disposal. It dropped slightly and reached a low point at 30% in 2013, and then slowly returned to 40% in 2015. Afterwards, there was a noticeable change: the recycling rate in France started to go down year by year while those in the UK and Germany increased steadily.
Compared with France, the percentages in the other two countries were low –at 20% and 35% in the UK and Germany respectively. The volume in the UK continuously went up by 25%, reaching 60% in 2015. Germany had a significant growth with a triple increase, from 20% to 60%. Similarly, between 2009 and 2011, both the UK and Germany had a dramatic upward trend and rocketed by over 15%.
According to the graph, it can be seen the most significant growth of the household recycling rate is in Germany, which is far ahead of the other two nations.
