You arranged to visit a friend in England but an important event at home now means that you must change the dates of the visit.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter
• explain the important event
• apologise for the situation
• suggest a new arrangement
Dear Mike,
Hope you are doing well. I am writing to inform you that I need to reschedule my trip to London as I have an important event coming up at home. Let me explain in detail.
To elucidate I had almost forgotten about the birthday of my wife before booking my tickets. This has happened in the past as well when I have missed her birthday due to official travel. Although she would not stop me from travelling to London however this time I plan to stay as I am planning a surprise party for her. I know you would be disappointed too as you were looking forward to meeting me, therefore, I would like to apologize for the last minute changes in my travel schedule.
Lastly, I plan to reschedule my trip to August as I have heard that it the best time to visit London. Additionally, Jenna will also accompany me on this trip so I think it will be a good opportunity for you to know her since you will be meeting her for the first time. Moreover, do let me know if you anything from India.
I look forward to your reply and seeing you soon.
Warm wishes
