People who make decisions based on emotion and justify those decisions with logic afterwards are poor decision makers
First of all,Emotional decisions are those which are taken from the heart rather that having a firm background logic before taking the decision.Emotions many times can come in the way of making the correct choice.Hence it is highly debated whether emotional decisions should be taken over logical decisions. As emotions prevent us from thinking rationally it hinders our approach for a problem.Emotions do not allow us to think a long term plan rather force us to think about the current situation.Hence the claim positively connects people who make emotional decisions as poor decision makers.
When we take into consideration emotions we often take into account our loved ones and things that are dear to us.We are afraid of losing lives rather than looking at the big picture. For example during a war it is a tough decision for any country to send its soldiers in the heat of a battle but they protect the millions of citizens in their country. The decision of sending soldiers or not has to be taken logically beforehand as millions of lives are at stake. These decisions if taken on the basis of emotion can cause many casualties and cannot be justified by any logical means.
Another example is the recent air strikes done by the Indian Air Force on terrorist camps in Pakistan as a retaliation for the bombing on Indian military bases. An emotional response would have been to invade the country of Pakistan but a logical decision was set up by the India Prime Minister of strategic air strikes only at terrorist camps.Such situations require logical thinkers over emotional thinkers.
On the contrary,it cannot be completely regarded that emotional decisions are always poor decisions. For example during the independence of the India many freedom fighters fought without proper weapons and lost their lives for the country. It was an emotional decision to choose country over ones family and to fight under any circumstances but it can be justified that only due to their actions India is a free democratic country today.
Hence it can be concluded that although emotional thinkers are not always poor decision makers many situations require logical thinking beforehand.Logical thinking helps in working towards a long term goal rather than short term goals.
