You recently read an article in a newspaper about your childhood friend with whom you have lost contact for a long time. Write a letter to the editor. In your letter:
• Say which edition and when did the article appear
• Explain why you lost contact with your friend
• Say how you want them to help you to get back in touch
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing with regard to an article that was published about an environment conservation campaign and its champion mr. desilva last Friday in the seventh edition of your tabloid this month.
I would like to bring to your kind information that mr desilva, the man leading this campaign and many other highly ambitious conservation projects, has been a very close friend of mine whom I have known from my middle school days. we went to the same university but because of having different majors, getting together during our higher studies did not happen as frequently as before. since our graduation, we have been working in different fields and have not managed to see each other. we did exchange emails for a couple of years but subsequently seem to have lost contact gradually. I imagine he must be busy on his project undertakings.
I would like to request your help in getting us reconnected. we have always been on speaking terms, and are even now, but as so many years have elapsed since our last correspondence, it makes me feel the need to connect back in a way that can take him by surprise. I would be grateful if you could invite him to your office with some other reasons so that I could make a surprise visit and see him in person. I hope you will be like my idea or propose an alternative one.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
sanjay
