The first chart below gives information about the money spent by British parents on their children’s sports between 2008 and 2014. The second chart shows the number of children who participated in three sports in Britain over the same time period.
A glance at the line charts provided reveals how much money British parents spent on their children’s sporting activities and the quantity of British children who engaged in football, swimming, athletics, over a six-year period of time, from 2008 to 2014.
It is noticeable from the two charts is that British parents spent more money on their children’s sports each year and British children always took part in football the most while compared to other sports.
If we look at the first chart, it saw a marked increase in each two year. In 2014 it got a peak at 33 pounds.
As for the second chart, it also saw a rise in three different sports. For football, it fluctuated from 2008 to 2010 at 8 pounds and then peaked at 9 pounds in 2014, which meant that it accounted for the highest number of children attending. Regarding athletics, it also stabilized at around one pounds at the same period of time and then experienced a dramatic growth from 2010 to 2012 and finally slightly decrease to nearly five pounds, overtaking swimming to become the second after football. With respect to swimming, it rose gradually from two pounds to just under four pounds, which meant that it had the lowest quantity of British’s children participate in.
