The diagram illustrates the stages and equipment used in the cement-making process, and how cement is used to produce concrete for building purposes.
There are two stages of production, they are cement and concrete production. In the cement production, it demonstrates how raw materials are used in manufacturing cement while concrete production shows how cement is used with other materials to produce concrete.
The first diagram demonstrates the stages in the production of cement. At the initial stage, two raw materials are used, which are limestone and clay. The two materials are placed in a crusher which grinds it into powdered substance. Then it is passed through a mixer which merges the two powdered materials together. The substance is transfered from the mixer to a rotating heater where profuse heat is applied to it. Then the raw cement material is passed on a grinder to finally produce the cement. Finally, the cement is packed in bags and ready to be sold.
The second diagram shows how cement is used in producing concrete for building purposes. from the diagram, there are four requirements for concrete production. They are cement, water, sand and gravel. Each material has a percentage to contribute in the production of concrete. The materials are placed inside a concrete mixer which merges them to produce concrete.
