HOW ETHANOL FUEL IS PRODUCED FROM CORN
The given graphic demonstrates how ethanol is generated for commercial use from corn
Overall, the process contains eight different steps, which helps transform the basic characteristic of corn to turn into ethanol via mainly fermentation
Before fermentation, corn is prepared in multiple stages. Firstly, it is stored in silos before being milled by a specific machine into powder. After that, the milled corn is cooked intensively in 4 hours with the addition of water to liquefy the mixture. Then the figure continues to go through the fermenting stage with the total of 48 hours
In the last 4 steps, the fermented mixture is separated in order to remove the solid by-product and keep the liquid go on the next stage, which is where ethanol is finally made. Through the purifying stage by heating in 5 hours the fermented liquid is turned into ethanol, which then be stored in different chambers. Finally, the wanted product is transported to where consumer can use it
