The pie chart illustrates destinations of students majoring in Anthropology after graduating from one university while the table describes the earnings of anthropologists with 5-year working experience.
In general, the majority of Anthropology graduates decided to pursue a full-time career and after 5 years of employment, anthropologists working in government sector received higher salaries than those in freelance consultants and private companies.
As depicted in the pie chart, over half of the Anthropology-majored graduates chose to enter the job market with a full-time position immediately. Meanwhile, the percentages of those who worked part-time or were unemployed were rather similar with 15 percent and 12 percent respectively. The same pattern can be identified when comparing the number of people with full-time postgrad study and people with unknown destination as either group accounted for precisely 8 percent of the whole surveyed population. Taking up the smallest proportion of the chart with 5 percent are graduates who managed their part-time occupation and postgrad education at the same time.
As can be seen from the table, the percentages of anthropologists earning less than $75,000 were exactly the same in both freelance consultants and government sector with 20 percent whereas in private companies, this figure represented nearly half of their total employees with 45 percent. Among those who received more than $75,000, the numbers of people who obtained between $75,000 and $99,000 and those obtaining over $100,000 in freelance consultant saw no difference as each group comprised of 40 percent. Given the benchmark of $100,000, half of state-run organization employees could surpass the salary of $100,000 while only almost a third of those working for private companies could acquire the similar income.
