The chart below gives information on the percentage of British people giving money to charity by age range for the years 1990 and 2010.
The bar chart presents the proportion of British citizens in five ranges of age donating their money for charity in 1990 and 2010. Overall, people from 36-50 was the dominant donor in 1990 while the percentage of people giving the most money for charitable contributions belong to 51-65 ages group.
The age group 18 to 25 making the donation remain the lowest position in both years, 17% in 1990 and 7% in 2010. A marginal decline was seen in the percentage of citizens donating money, from 31% to 24%. Similarly, the people in the 36-50 age group also fell gradually by 7% from 1990 to 2010.
In 1990, the age group from 51 to 60 stood for the second dominant in the charity but this figure rose to prominence in 2010, at 40%. People over 65 years old accounted for the most third percentage in 1990. However, this figure dropped slightly to 35%, which was the same proportion with people belonging to the 35-50 age group in 2010.
