Overall, Over-grazing and deforestation are two main reasons that cause a degree of land and Europe is the area that has the highest proportion of land degradation.
First of all, the downward of worldwide land by over-grazing and deforestation took up to 35% and 30% respectively then this figure was followed by over-cultivation, which stood for 28%. Moreover, others were just lower than 10% on causing land degradation.
Secondly, Europe's deforestation had the highest percentage at 9.8%, this number was followed by Oceania at 1.7% and 0.3 % in North America. Thirdly, only Oceania had 0% of over-cultivation while there was 7.7% in Europe and 3.3% in North America. However, the proportion of over-gazing in Oceania was the highest, which was about 11.3%. In addition, Europe's over-grazing was higher than the percentage in North America by 4%. Furthermore, it was clear that the total of degraded in Europe took first place with 23% and second place for Oceania, which according by 13% and third place for North America by 5%.
