Some old customs and traditions are not useful presently, so should be given up. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
There is no denying that we live in a modern era in which old rituals are increasingly forgotten and becoming a thing of the past. Of course, many people believe that the old practices should be abandoned. And I believe I completely agree with the point made. In the following paragraphs, I will elaborate on my points.
First of all, the world is becoming more advanced, and technology is certainly not required to carry out old customs that have little or no value in the modern age. To elaborate, there was once a tradition of sending close and dear friends gifts and greeting each other by mail on special occasions. This old tradition, however, appears to have died out due to technology, particularly the introduction of smartphones, and has been replaced by text messaging. Second, old customs are now regarded as a waste of time and energy. For instance, thanks to new technologically advanced machinery that was not previously possible, they tend to use it. Women used to sew by hand, for example, but not anymore because modern sewing machines not only make the job easier but also save time. As a result, the practice of hand sewing is gradually fading, as if it were impractical in the modern era and unnecessary.
On the other hand, sexual identity has equal rights and importance in the modern world that were not previously available, which helps explain why women are responsible for household chores and, over time, gender roles and social roles. Members of the family have evolved. Previously, women were expected to do housework and had no opportunity to obtain an education. Today, however, managing family expenses with a single income is a difficult task; thus, the woman must work and the man must assist her in managing the household. To be sure, the old customs no longer exist.
Finally, in conclusion, I would like to reiterate my belief that some old customs will fade over time as they become obsolete in the present or when there is no need to continue in the future.
