The line chart gives information about the amount of carbon dioxide emissions per head in four particular nations from 1967 to 2007.
In general, the emissions of carbon dioxide in the UK and Sweden had an upward trend, while Italy and Portugal were the opposite patterns. The UK had a reduction but still accounted for the highest average of CO2.
The average of carbon dioxide released in Italy doubled in Portugal in 1967. Approximately seven metric tonnes of CO2 were produced by an Italian citizen, in comparison to each Portuguese discharged over 5 tonnes during the next 30 years.
There were 11 metric tonnes of CO2 released by a British habitant, compared with 9 tonnes in Sweden at the beginning of the period. After reaching 10.5 tonnes, the quantity of CO2 in Sweden dramatically decreased and had the same pattern as Portugal in 2007. Despite a gradual decline in carbon decline emissions from 11 metric tonnes in 1967 to 9 metric tonnes in 2007, the United Kingdom was the biggest emitter of carbon dioxide as compared to all other countries.
