It is clear that Renault used the largest amount of money for advertising. Overall, all four companies spent a lot of money advertising on TV in 2002.
It can be seen from the chart, Renault distributed 45 million for press whereas Vauxhall distributed 8 million. Besides, 38 million was spent on press advertising by Rover, and 18 million for Cetirizine. Advertising on TV was the biggest cost. Cetirizine paid 70 million and Vauxhall was slightly lower at 65 million. Meanwhile Renault was allocated 59 million on television commercials, while Rover was allocated only 45 million.
In other words, promotion in cinema and outdoor incurred the lowest costs, with less than $10 million spent by each company. It is also notable that expenditure on radio advertising by all car manufacturers was similar at 15 million dollars.
