The chart below demonstrates the number of families by their yearly income in the USA in three years: 2007, 2011, and 2015. Overall, their earnings have increased for three years, and the majority of households came from those who earned $100.000 and more per year. Families who had earnings less than $25.000 and up to $49.999 also made up a significant figure, while only slight changes were in the annual income of $50.000 to $99.999 households.
Most households came from those who earned $100.000 and more per year. In fact, nearly 30 million households gained from $100.000 to more in 2007. In 2011, however, this figure slightly decreased and grew again to nearly 35 million. The second largest families of five groups of households by income were $25.000 to $49.999 per year. They represented slightly more than 25 million households in 2007 and took the lead in five groups with 30 million households in 2011. They slightly declined in 2015. Families who had been paid less than $25.000 were the third largest group. Their number was approximately equal to those from families making $25.000 to $49.999 a year.
The number of households earning $50.000 to $74.999 did not change at all in three years: 2007, 2011, and 2015. Their figure steadily stayed at about 20 million families. The smallest group was families who made $75.000 to $99.999 a year. They represented just around 15 million households in all three years: 2007, 2011, and 2015.
