The table below gives information about the problems faced by children in two primary schools in 2005 and 2015.
The table compares the percentage of children who struggled with distinct educational problems in two different primary schools in the years 2005 and 2015.
It is clear that school A had larger percentages of pupils with different educational problems in all areas in both years. While school A managed to reduce numbers of pupils struggling with these problems, school B saw a significant increase in the number of children with spelling and following instructions problems.
In the year 2005, the proportion of pupils attending school A with problems with concentration in lessons and following instructions were 40% and 42% respectively. Over the following 10 years, the figures dropped to 18% for both problems. Other educational problems saw slight decreases in the proportions of pupils, ranging from 20% to 28% in 2015.
Looking at different educational problems of school B, in 2005, the children who experienced difficulties related to listening skills, verbal expression of ideas, and concentration in lessons accounted for 11%, 14%, and 15% respectively. The other problems faced by children made up all under 10%. It is noticeable that the number of students struggling with spelling and following instructions doubled, from 5% to 10%, and 6% to 12% over a period of 10 years.
