about odd sounds
The reading claims that there are some theories about the source of strange sounds, Quakers, that sailors of Russian submarine heard from1960s to 1980s in the North Atlantic and the Arctic Ocean. However, the lecturer finds all the ideas dubious and prepares some evidence to refute them all.
First, the author argues that these sounds were caused by whale males to attract female whales during their courtship period. Conversely, the lecturer brings the idea that this theory at first is plausible, however, it is unlikely to be true. Also, it is true the place of the submarine was the general area that whales live. However, whales live near the surface and submarine was placed at the deep of the ocean. Hence, it could not have been heard sounds from near the surface. Besides the whales could be detected by sonar of the submarine.
Second, the reading passage holds the view that the sounds could be caused by giant squid. Since they have soft bodies, they are hard detected by sonar of the submarine. The professor underlines the fact that Russian submarine heard these sounds from the 1960s and reported them for two decades. In addition, after twenty years there is no report from these sounds. However, these animals lived there and also continue to live there. Therefore, there is no reason to suddenly start of these sounds and stopped of them.
The reading asserts that these sounds may have been produced by another military submarine.in contrast, the speaker dismisses this issue due to the fact that if there had been a submarine there, sonar of the submarine would have detected it. In addition, the submarine was not able to change its direction quickly and its engine did not make any noise during a quick change. Moreover, there is no technology has invented until now such as fast and its engine such as silent.

We are expecting: No. of Words: 350 while No. of Different Words: 200
Better to have 5 paragraphs with 3 arguments. And try always support/against one side but compare two sides, like this:
para 1: introduction
para 2: reason 1. address both of the views presented for reason 1
para 3: reason 2. address both of the views presented for reason 2
para 4: reason 3. address both of the views presented for reason 3
para 5: conclusion.
So how to find out those reasons. There is a formula:
reasons == advantages or
reasons == disadvantages
for example, we can always apply 'save time', 'save/make money', 'find a job', 'make friends', 'get more information' as reasons to all essay/speaking topics.
or we can apply 'waste time', 'waste money', 'no job', 'make bad friends', 'get bad information' as reasons to all essay/speaking topics.
