Government investment in the arts, such as music and theatre, is a waste of money. Governments must invest this money in public services instead.
To what extent do you agree with this statement?
Government always spend their money for the welfare of people. Although some people believe that the investment in some sectors, like cultural sector, is a waste of money. On the contrary, others think that government should spend their capital on public sectors. In my opinion, I believe that government should money on some important sectors, such as education, health and communication.
The most important sector where government should invest is the education. As we know that education is the backbone of a nation, so they should spend more money on this sector for its improvement. Government can provide more facilities to the students by giving them scholarship. For this reason, it will encourage them to take the higher education, as a result, the rate of educated people will increase. Thus, the increase number of educated people will lead to the development of the country.
Health sector is the another area where government should spend their capital. For example, in my country the modern hospital facilities in rural area are inadequate. Besides this, the number of patients are much higher in compared to the number of the hospitals. This facilities are a crucial need for the people of that area. So, government must spend their money on this sector instead of other unimportant sectors.
Government can also invest their money for the improvement of communication sectors, like bus and train. For instance, in my country the number of passengers in capital city is increasing day by day, but the vehicles which is provided for the passengers are not sufficient. So, people are facing many difficulties during their journey. Therefore, government can spend in this sector rather than other nonessential sectors.
To sum up, for the development of a country, government have to spend a lot of money on different sectors. This money comes for the taxes and VAT of its own people. So, I believe that these valuable money should be spent on essential public sectors rather than nonessential one.
