The graph below shows the percentage of Australian exports to 4 countries from 1990 to 2012.
The line chart elucidates the proportion of overseas products in Australia in 22 years since 1990, categorized by four nations such as Japan, the United States, China, and India. At a glance, Japanese and Chinese exports show downward and upward trends in the same period. However, the US and India suffered from the fluctuations related to Australian exports.
According to the graph, Australia initially cooperated with Japan at the highest rate of overseas items, at over one-fourth (25%), followed by nearly one-tenth (10%) of the US, while China and India had mostly similar percentages at small fractions. After a decade, the Japanese figure plunged significantly and maintained the same level until 2005, at which point the American figure fluctuated drastically, reaching its peak of over 10% in 2000 and hitting the lowest point of 5% five years later. China experienced a progressive upsurge of 5% in the five-year period when Indian exports stayed unchanged at about 2%.
The years 2005 and later showed an outstanding feature of China whose export proportions enormously grew and hit their peak of 25% and went upward to around 28%. Besides, the percentage of Japan was a slight reduction, although it stood in second place in terms of exports. Both the US and India suffered from the volatilities, the proportion of the US was higher compared to India in 2012, at 14% and 5%, respectively.
