The chart below gives information about how families in one country spent their weekly income in 1968 and in 2018.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The chart depicts data on how much money the families spent in two years: 1968 and 2018.
Overall, There saw an upward trend in housing, transport and leisure while the rest had a downward trend, except household goods. In general, food had the highest consumption trend in two years.
Looking at the chart, we can see that in 1968, 10% of families spent their income for housing. At the same time, they spent 8% on leisure. However, the proportion of income for leisure grew considerably to 23% while that of housing rose dramatically to 18%. Transport stood at only 6% but reached to 14% in 2018.
However, the trends in spending on food, fuel and power and personal goods were noticeably different from those. The figure for food was highest in 1968 at 35% but dramatically dropped to 16% in 2018. There was significant decrease in the number of personal goods from 1968 and 2018, falling from 8% to 4%. Fuel and power had 7% of salary and in 2018 can only spend 4% of income. The number of families spending on household goods maintainded the same level at 7%.
