The table below describes the percentages of home-schooled students in Somecountry in 1999-2004.
The chart compares the proportions of children educated at home based on different grades in Somecountry over a period of five years.
Overall, throughout the period shown, the home-schooling phenomenon was recorded to be the most popular among kindergarten children, however, a contrasting pattern was seen among children whose grades were 1 or 2. Besides, despite some fluctuations in grades 1-2 and grades 5-6, a growing tendency was applied to all age groups.
Observing the chart in more detail, in 1999, there was a resemblance between the figures for grades 3-4 and 7-8, at 1.6%. In the next three years, the percentages of kindergarten and grades 3-4 students increased by 0.1% per year while that of grades 7-8 pupils nearly underwent no change. In 2004, gradual growth in the proportion of kindergarten students learning at home resulted in its final position as the grade with the highest percentage of home-educated kids. Meanwhile, 2.2% of students in grades 3-4 and 2.5% of students in grades 7-8 were taught by their parents in 2004.
Regarding other grades, it is clear that in 1999, 1.5% of both grades 1-2 students and grades 5-6 students received home education. Additionally, in spite of marginal downturns, in 2002, the figure for grades 1-2 rose back to 1.5% while that of grades 5-6 was 1.6%. In the next two years, more percentages of children in both age groups became home-educated students with 2.1% for grades 1-2 and 2.6% for grades 5-6.
