The chart shows the proportion of income that families in a specific nation spent every week in the years 1968 and 2018.
It is clear that there are significant changes in the way that families spent money. There are huge differences in the way money was spent between two years.
In 1968, the amount of money weekly distributed unevenly. While the percentage of food is highest at 35%, all costs of other things are relatively even, from 6% to 10%. The lowest expenditure is fuel and power.
After the following 50 years, the costs of living are changed significantly. While the cost of food is far higher in 1968, the proportion increased to about 17%, approximately two times. In the contrast, the average weekly spending on leisure rose dramatically from nearly 9% to around 22%. Besides, the housing and transport costs increased considerably in nearly two times for each cost.
in conclusion, there is a slight increase in the police budget but the percentage of this money spent on this purpose changed significantly.
