The charts compare the percentage of English who choose to live alone in terms of gender and age in 2011, and the number of bedrooms in their houses.
Overall, it is clear that the proportion of man and women in this country living alone nearly the same. It also indicates that most of their house have 3 bedrooms, while tiny minority of those has 4 bedrooms and over.
In England, the percentage of male living alone saw an upward trend until they 49 years old, with the highest figure of middle-aged man in group age of 35-49, at about 65%. In contrast, after 50 years old, women in this country choosed to live alone more than men. The older they were, the more they lived alone, with highest proportion of the elderly making up over 70%.
Reagrding bedrooms in their houses, while the number of one-person households had 5 bedrooms and over only occupied 1.4%, the vast majority of these house had 2 bedrooms. The percentage of households had 1 or 3 bedrooms nearly the same, at 28% and 29.8% respectively.
