The given bar chart compares the proportion of male and female test takers who passed their driving test in a country in Asia over a period of 31 years.

Overall, the percentage of both sexes who passed their driving test followed an upward trend. It is also noticeable that the there were always more women than men passing the test.

In 1980, the percentage of women who passed their driving test was around 47 percent. This number then rose to more than 50 percent in 1990. In 2000, it reached a peak of almost 70 percent, and 2 years later, it fell to about 65 percent.

Turning to the male population, nearly 30 percent was the figure for men that passed the driving test in 1980. This figure had a growth of 10 percent, to below 40 percent, continued to increase until it stood at just slightly lower than 50 percent in 2000. Over the next 2 years, no change was seen in the proportion of male test takers who passed.
