The charts below show the proportion of British student at one university in England who were able to speak other languages in addition to English, in 2000 and 2010. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparison.

The pie chart illucidates the proportion of British pupils at one university in United Kingdom who could speak other languages in 2000 and 2010. Overall, there was an increase in the number of students who were able to speak another language in addition to English in 2010. Furthermore, it could be observed that, with the exception of reading, the percentage of students who had knowledge of Spanish in both years were more than others.

In 2000, while 20% of students did not speak any other language except English, there was a decline in this proportion to 10% in 2010. At 30% Spanish was a language which most students could speak in 2000, then this rose slightly by only 5% in the following ten years. Meanwhile, French experienced a fall by 5% compared with the last decade given.

No change was observed in the remaining German spoken (10%) as well as the percentage of trilingual students (10%) in 2010. However, this year witnessed a 5% rise in the proportion of bilingual students, who had the ability to speak besides German, Spanish and French, representing one fifth of the total.
