The charts below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015. The chart illustrates the worth in billion dollars of a country’s export in five areas during the years 2015 and 2016. The table depicts the percentage increase or decrease in those five categories from 2015 to 2016.

Overall, all categories had a growth in their export except Gems and jewellery which saw a fall from 2015 to 2016. Highest percentage change was recorded for textiles. Petroleum has the highest earning during the year 2015 whereas engineering goods and petroleum products had around the same value during the year 2016 which was recorded as the highest.

For petroleum products, the export earning has risen from around 61 billion dollars to about 63 billion dollars with a percentage increase of 3%. For agricultural products, there is a minimal increase in exports from 2015 to 2016 with only 0.81% rise. Engineering goods and textiles saw a significant rise from 2015 when the values were about 58 billion dollars and 26 billion dollars to nearly 61 billion dollars and 31 billion dollars in 2016. These categories had 8.5% and 15.24% increase respectively.

The only category observed to have a decrease in exports is gems and jewellery. In 2015, the value of exports was around 42 billion dollars whereas in 2016, the value was about 40.5 billion dollars. This showed a 5.18% fall in export earnings.
