Development of village
The provided maps indicate the changes that occurred in the village called Kelsbey from 1780 to 2000.
It is clear that the biggest development that happened at the village was a significant increase in the number of homes. Additionally, the woods had completely disappeared by the year 2000.
In 1780, while there were 100 houses in the northeast corner of the map, this figure doubled in 1860 and rised dramatically to 500 in 2000. In contrast, the amount of farm next to the river halved in 1860 and did not exist anymore in 2000. Similarly, the woods in the south area of homes also experienced the same trend and they were cut down to make way for two new schools and two sport fields.
There was a construction of a road from the village to the long river in 1860 and it was developed for another way to area of schools and sport courts by 2000. Moreover, one bridge cross the river appeared in 1860 and still existed in the year 2000. And in 2000, the development of the village continued by erecting many shops along the river and building a area of wetland for birds at the end of this one.
