The graph below shows the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat in a European country between 1979 and 2004.
The given chart demonstrates the amount of four types of meat, namely chicken, beef, lamb, and fish that a person consumed each week in a European country from 1979 to 2004.
Overall, it can be seen clearly that the consumption of chicken rose sharply while the opposite was true for the intake of beef, lamb and fish over the 25-year period.
In the year of 1979, beef was by far the most popular kind of food, which was close behind at roughly 220 grams per person per week. A similar pattern was seen on the chicken and lamb, capturing around 150 grams whereas fish was the least consumed of four categories, representing approximately 70 grams.
Between 1979 and 2004, these categories went up and down several times. Noticeably, the country witnessed a dramatic increase in the popularity of chicken, which surged quickly to the top spot, around 240 grams. In contrast, the figure for beef and lamb plummeted remarkably over a period that fell into 100 grams and 70 grams per person per week. Additionally, about 40 grams of fish was eaten in 2004, experiencing a slight fall of about 10 grams during the time given.
