The line graph illustrates how many shops closed and the amount of shops opened in a country in a 7-year period, from 2011 to 2018.
Overall, At first, the amount of store openings was higher than the one closings. However, after experiencing lots of fluctuations over 7 years, The closures had surpassed the openings in the figure.
In the first year of the period, the number of openings stood at 8500 and decreased sharply to 4000 in 2012. After that, Its figure increased gradually to 6000 in 2012. Then it dropped again to the 2012 figure. It was seen that there was a stable fluctuation between 2015 and 2017 and just grew by about 100. However, it continuously experienced a downward trend in the last year, dipping to only 3000.
Besides, the number of shops that failed to maintain initially stayed at approximately 6500 and varied between 6000 and 7000 in the next 4 years. It was witnessed that the figure for closures dropped significantly and hit the lowest point of only 500 shops in 2015. Nevertheless, It recovered magnificently to above 5000 in 2016 and remained stable until the end of the period
