Essay topics:

The graph below shows the number of tourists visiting a particular Caribbean island between 2010 and 2017.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The graph illustrates the proportion of tourists visiting a specific island in the Caribbean from 2010 to 2017.

Overall, the total count boomed greatly with the number of visitors who preferred to stay on cruise ships being on the uptrend whereas the figures of those staying on the island rose for some time before leveling off between the years 2010 to 2017.

According to the data, there was no change in the initial value for those preferring to stay on the island remaining below 1million until 2011. A rise was recorded after 2011 to 2013 where the value almost doubled, before plateauing off at 1.5 million until 2017 with a minimal fluctuation in between.

Meanwhile, visitors living in the cruise ship fluctuated from around half of 0.5 million in 2010 to 0.5 million in 2011 and fell back again to the initial value in 2012 after which an upward trend was recorded until 2017 at 2 million. This has resulted in the consistent rise in the total number of visitors, visiting the island and accounts for more than triple of the initial value.
