It is true that the populations who are at the age 65 and over in three countries rise significantly. In the future, people 65 years old in Japan will take the highest proportion among three nations.
First of all, nearly 10% of the population in the USA were 65 years old and above in 1940 then this figure was followed by Sweden to 7% and 5% for Japan. Secondly, There was an increase of American people aged 65 and over to 15% in 1980 then remained stable this number until 2020 before increasing dramatically to nearly 25% at 2040. Thirdly, Sweden's people who are around 65 or above rose gradually to 20% in 2015 but decreased slightly to 17% in 5 years later. However, there will be a notable increase to 25% in the percentage of Sweden's population about 65 or older in 2040. Lastly, Japanese citizens aged 65 and higher decreased a bit by 2% in 1980 but this percentage was recovered to 5% in 2000 then rose gradually to 10% in 2010. In addition, this number will continue to reach a peek to 27% in the next 30 years in the future.
