Essay topics:

The three pie charts show different accommodation choices by holidaymakers in the three
years 1965, 1985 and 2005.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and making
relevant comparisons.

The pie charts illustrate how people decided where to stay on vacation in 1965, 1985, and 2005.
In general, the number of people choosing to stay in hotels and caravans increased, while the number of people choosing to stay with friends or relatives and camp decreased. Furthermore, the two most popular choices over the years have been staying with friends or relatives and staying in hotels, with the exception of 1965, when the former was the most popular choice.
In 1965, 55 percent of people chose to stay with friends or relatives. This percentage then dropped dramatically over the next two years, to 35% and 30%, respectively. In the first year of the survey, camping accounted for a third of the remaining options (15%). Following that, it rose to 18 percent in 1985 before falling to 12 percent in 2005.

In contrast, only 16 percent of people chose to stay in hotels in the first year; however, this number increased significantly to 37 percent in 1985 and 38 percent in 2005. Caravans were the least popular choice in 1985, accounting for only ten percent of the total pie chart, down from fourteen percent in 1965. This figure had more than doubled since 1985.
