Recent figures show an increase in violent crime among youngsters under the age of 18. Some psychologists claim that the basic reason for this is that children these days are not getting the social and emotional learning they need from parents and teachers
Nowadays, with a competitive world both parents can’t spend more time for their children and teacher in school don’t have so much time to teach child about the social and emotional learning, but I think that actually true because in the teenager age they usually want to be different and don’t respect for the models behaviour like hard work or politeness. In my point of view, I think some young people today are so rebellious and it hard for families or teacher to teach them. So, I do not agree with that statement is the basic reason to increase in teenager violence.
To lead the younger to wrong it have so many factors can affect them, and economy factors is one of them, for example. If a child come from a poor family and living in low quality housing, this is sure that children can be affected, however have a loving family.
Other factors can come from their friend because at this age teenager want to be express themselves with their friend, so friends actually have more influence than parents. At that age, they want to be a part of groups, or even a gang that might lead them to breaking the law and go a wrong way.
In Conclusion, I still agree that lack of social and emotional learning from parents and teachers is a factor increase younger violence, but it not the only factor or even the main cause. Because at that age they still not fully developed so they can be affected by anything in their life.
