You have been offered a job that will require you to move to a city that you have never visited before. You have a friend who lives there.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter
1) Explain your situation
2) Say why you feel unsure about living in the city
3) Ask some question about life in the city.
Dear john,
I hope this letter finds you in radiant health and to the best of spirits. I am writing this letter to share news with you that I will be moving to your city soon due to my new job. I seek your advice about the same.
Actually, With god's grace, I got a job opportunity from a very renowned it company but, I am afraid that whether it would be a wise decision to move to an unfamiliar new city with family.
I am unsure about moving there due to the comfort level of my wife and kids that they enjoy living here from past seven years. they even manage their living in my absence when I go for official tour for a week or so. We have a scheduled timetable for kids like school, swimming classes, library and so my wife has a routine schedule. moving to a new place means disturbing their routine and convenience zone.
I will be more than happy, if you get me through this dilemma and clear some of my doubts about lifestyle in your city, as you are residing there from last ten years. Suggest me the area to live where the lifestyle is affordable and family could adjust easily. Another biggest question is, what is the procedure for school admissions and can you forward me list of good public schools in the city. Also provide the details of extra-curricular activities in which I can enroll my children.
Waiting for your guided response eagerly.
See you soon.
Warm regards
HArry
