The line chart illustrates the proportion of senior citizen in three different countries in a century. Overall, there was a significant rose in the number of elderly in all countries. Although japan stood as the lowest number of population age 65, at the end of the period it will account as the highest figure.
In the first year, japan saw as the lowest number of senior citizen among the countries. It began by just about 5%. In the ten following years, it experienced small decreased (around 2%) and, remained unchanged for more than twenty-year (from 1960 to 1985). Following which, the figure saw a small increase to that of starting number. It is predicted that the number of elderly in japan will rise to more than 7% in 2020 and, then shall increase exponentially into more than a fourth in 2040.
The elderly figure of The United observed as the biggest number among the three in 1940. The number increased by more than 5% in four decades and, then is slightly falling from 1980 to 2020. Following which, the number is projecting a significant increase approximately 23% in the last reported year. Furthermore, Sweden’s population aged 65 and over stood just above 5% and, the figure witnessed a moderate increase to a little below 15% in 1980. After which, the figure experienced fluctuation and, will finish the year with 25%.
