The bar chart below provides information about the time that people spent on telephone calls in the UK, divided into three kinds of genres, during the period of eight years from 1995 to 2002.
As can be seen, the time of two categories that people spent on calling rose steadily each year, expect the local-fixed line which rose from 1995 to 1999 then decreased in the remaining period. Time figures for the local-fixed line were the highest than the two other categories at all period.
During the period of five years from 1995, used time of local-fixed line, national and international-fixed line and mobiles rose from 72, 38 and 3 to 90, 50 and 13 billion minutes respectively. Over the last three years of the period, the figure for the two remaining categories reached peaks of 61 and 45 billion minutes respectively. By contrast, the figure for the local-fixed line decreased to its lowest point, at 71 billion minutes.
