The chart reflects the average number of pupils per class in primary schools and lower secondary schools in six specific countries in comparison with the figure of the world in 2006.
Overall, the global average number of pupils who attended in lower secondary schools was higher than that of primary learners. In addition, two Asian countries, detailedly South Korea and Japan, had the larger average class size in both schools than the other countries in the given chart in specific and the world in general.
In terms of primary schools, it is noticeable that six figures were all under 35 pupils per class. Specifically, the figures of South Korea, Japan and the UK were superior to the world average, about 34, 29 and 27 pupils respectively. Furthermore, it was Mexico that the average size of class made up the least of the world, precisely 20 pupils.
Regarding the secondary learners, the chart demonstrates that almost all given countries’ class capacity were also less than 35 pupils, excepting for South Korea. While Japan, Mexico ranked respectively second and third , the others’ average numbers were lower than that of the world. Besides, only around 17 pupils attended a class in the UK, which was also the lowest figure of six countries.
