The bar chart illustrates the amount of electricity generated and utilized by the top ten countries in 2014.
Overall, China and the United States were the biggest producers and consumers of electricity, whereas Korea was at the bottom of the rank.
As can be seen from the figures, while China produced 5,398 kWh, the United States produced 4,099 kWh. Russia was the third-highest producer of electricity, generating 1,057 kWh. However, Japan, India, Canada, France, Brazil, and Germany manufactured electricity between 500 and 1,000 kWh. The Republic of Korea generated the least amount of electricity, with 485,1 kWh.
Furthermore, the consumption of electricity followed the same patterns as the generation of energy. The top three electricity consumers were China, the United States, and Russia, which used 5,322 kWh, 3,866 kWh, and 1,038 kWh, respectively. Japan and India came in fourth and fifth, with a power consumption of 856.7 kWh and 698.8 kWh, respectively. The remaining countries utilized less than 500 kWh of electricity, with the Republic of Korea using the least, with 449.5 kWh. Except for Germany, which created 526.6 kWh and consumed 582.5 kWh, all of the countries’ power outputs exceed their consumption.
