The diagram shows a museum and its surroundings in 1990 and 2010
The map illustrates the improvements of a museum and its surrounding area between 1990 and 2010.
Generally, the indoor area of the museum witnessed minor changes with the simplification of the overall structure. Besides, despite little disturbance to green spaces, noticeable transformations were seen in the outdoor area in terms of visitors’ services.
Looking at the map in more detail, it is clear that the number of exhibition rooms was reduced when it fell from four rooms in 1990 to only two rooms in 2010. Furthermore, an enlargement was observed in the shop area while the storeroom remained unchanged over the period.
Regarding the surroundings of the museum, the whole garden was demolished to make way for the expanded parking lot. Moreover, during the same time frame, there was a replacement of the old cottage with a new cafe. However, no discernible variation was recorded in the plant areas.
