TOEFL Writing practice test 9
The passage claims that James Bond is a fictional character, created based on many different people, while the professor says that we can directly tie James Bond to real spy that was called Dushko Popov.
Unlike the passage which says that the stories are fictional, professor claims that we can connect the first book that is calledd Casino Royale to an actual event that happened to Dushko Popov.
The passage also claims that no spies have acted in a way James Bond does, like a carefree playboy. But the professor says, that the real spy Popov was like that. And that he used the playboy persona to get more information.
Lastly the professor says that even though Dushko and James are not a copy of each other, they share the most important personality traits. That’s why Dusko is the main inspiration for the fictional spy. Contrary to this, the passage says that James Bond was created from many different experiences of Ian Fleming.
