In many countries, crime rates amongst younger people have been rising.
Discuss the causes and solutions for this problem.
In recent years, there has been a rise in the rate of juvenile delinquency. In my opinion, the primary reason behind this is the lack of effective and proper education and care from family and the best solutions are related to offering parenting courses and social welfare.
The main factor contributing to this situation is family background and education, which plays a key role in shaping children’s personality and behavior. Young children are the most vulnerable and easily influenced by those who they frequently interact with. However, nowadays, parents often prioritize their career development over educating or spending quality time with their children and do not have enough essential parenting skills. While some parents can be seriously strict and violent - both mentally and physically, others have a tendency to overindulge their kids. Besides, children from families with violent or drug-abuse parents are also more likely to become would-be criminals as their parents are typically their role models. This unstable upbringing without proper parental support and consistent guidance increases the likelihood of children committing crimes.
Crime rates among younger individuals will recede with effective educational approach and sufficient care from both families and society. Parents should be encouraged or even required to take parental courses with experts to change their mindset and learn how to guide their kids and deal with their problems. Parents will also learn how to create a secure and warm environment in which their children will be delicately nurtured to become more well-rounded individuals. In addition, children from underprivileged and broken families should receive more psychological as well as financial care and support from the community. In Vietnam, many charity and non-profit organizations such as the program “Kindness” and “Pairs of Leaves for Caring” have successfully supported huge numbers of disadvantaged children in all regions over the country. These are practical actions that can contribute to eliminating juvenile delinquency cases in society.
In conclusion, the rise in youth crimes is primarily attributed to poor family background and education approach and the viable solutions are the combined effort of both parents and society in offering children with stable upbringing through developing parenting skills and supporting programs.
