The best ideas arise from a passionate interest in commonplace things.
The issue is mentioning an important principle which is the cause of many developments of human species in many fields such as technology, economy, philosophy, etc. This interest creates the first motivation in humans to gather information about a subject, design experiments, and, many times, come across new ideas in that field.
Having strong stimuli in the field of interest is a crucial part of creating new ideas that can make a great change in the lives of human beings. When Maryam Mirzakhani, one of the greatest mathematicians in the contemporary and the professor of Stanford University, was asked about her great performance in her major, in which she solves some of the most important problems which were so hard for other experts to solve, she answered that she had such a great enthusiasm in mathematics that she even didn't understand how the time went on when she was busy solving a math problem.
When you look back in history, you can see such acclaimed scientists who even didn't spend time in academic environments, and their success only summarized in their eagerness. Thomas Edison, who is famous for inventing the light bulb, and also, he is renowned as the father of electricity, didn't go to school because his teacher told his mom that he is so coward that he couldn't learn, even very simple concepts. But that didn't prevent him from going forward, to the point that he is now one of the most famous men in history who helped human society a lot with his innovations.
But where do these passionate interest in common things come from? To answer this question, you should observe a child how he chooses his toys and with what things he plays. The main source of creativity and interest in a human comes from his childhood, which is the first part of the long road of life. If you provide a child with a variety of objects relating to different contexts such as musical instruments, chemistry lab tools, etc, you give him the chance to find his favorite field. You can see some kids who are less than 5 years old, but they can play the piano like Mozart.
In conclusion, we are surrounded by many different things in everyday life, from childhood to adulthood. We cannot come across greate ideas in even the most simple things unless we have a basic enthusiasm toward those fields.
