The charts give data on the percentage of nutrients which is not good for people’s health if they eat too much such as sodium, saturated fat and added sugar in a typical meals in the USA.
In general, American people tend to used lots of three types of nutrients in their dinner. Particularly, sodium is used most in the dinner with 43% while added sugar take up to 42% in snacks.
First of all, it can be seen that the quantity of sodium, saturated fat and added sugar used in breakfast is nearly the same with 14% sodium, 16% saturated fat and 16% added sugar.
In other side, snacks is added an amount of added sugar with 42%. Meanwhile, the percentage of sodium in it is similar with that in breakfast with 14 percent, lower than that in lunch (29%).
Furthermore, people in the USA consume about 26% saturated fat, 29% of sodium and only 19% added sugar in lunch.
To sum up, Americans tend to use sodium, saturated fat and added sugar much in dinner, snacks and lunch. Sodium hold the largest percentage in dinner with 43% used while the rate of added sugar in snacks is ranked the first place with 42%.
