The graph below shows the changing patterns of access to modern technology in homes in the UK
The graph illustrates the access ability of British people to various modern technologies from home such as CD player, DVD, Mobile phone, Internet from the year 1994 to 2008, the measure by percentages.
Overall, by the end of 2008 more than 60% of British have the access ability to these kinds of technology which have been listed above with the highest is Internet connection and lowest is Mobile phone.
As regards CD player and Internet connection, both were champion in the percentages by the end of 2008. The former was invented in 1994 with around 42% and this number increased gradually to about 82% at the end of the period. By contrast, the latter which was born much more later in 2002, started with around 25% shoot up to the top with 1 to 2% higher than CD player.
The advent of DVD player and Mobile phone were really close, 1996 and 1998 with the percentages around 18% and 10% respectively. DVD player experienced fluctuations but with an upward trend and finally reach the third rank with approximately 79%. Likewise, Mobile phone also went up steadily to around 62% in 2008.
