A glance at the line graph reveals the average metric tonnes of carbon dioxide disposal, discharged by each resident in four particular nations: The United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal in a 40-year period, starting from 1967.
Overall, there was a clear growth in the amount of CO2 per person releasing in Italy and Portugal. However, the downward trend was examined in both The United Kingdom and Sweden’s figures.
In the first year of the survey, it is the United Kingdom that discharged most CO2, with a substantial starting point of approximately 11 tonnes. No matter how remarkably it dropped by more than 2 tonnes in 40 years later, The UK was also the one to emit the most. Besides, although Sweden's figure steeply climbed by a tonne from a considerable number of nearly 9 tonnes, drastically did it plunge to roughly 5.8 tonnes in 2007.
Meanwhile, after swiftly rising to 6 tonnes, the amount of released CO2 in Italy noticeably grew and then leveled off at 8 tonnes, which doubled its initial figure. On the other hand, at an ample of approximately 1 tonne, having tremendously soared by more than 4 tonnes, Portugal reached a plateau at nearly 5.8 tonnes of CO2 after a period of 40 years.
