Living in a country where you have to speak a foreign language can cause serious social problems, as well as practical problems.

In today's integrating world, there is an unprecedented level of people believing that residing in a foreign country with a different language causes several problems. From my point of view, I am of the opinion that there are a barrage of downsides of living in a new country with only a language.
The first thing to notice is that the immigrants can easily encounter criminals when they show a low ability of communication. As the people have difficulties in speaking foreign language, they will be less likely to call for help or prosecute the felons. Thus, they will turn into the targets of pickpocketing, assaulting and the like. Take Russia as an example, there is a high level of crimes in this country on the foreign visitors with lower rate of defencing. As a result, this situation can trigger the danger and threat to those immigrants with low language skills.
Furthermore, people may have to suffer from a sense of alienation and homesickness after living abroad. Some people would say that when they go to another country, they can have interpreters or a certain level of language abilities to communicate on a daily basis. However, not everyone is financially capable of hiring translators or good at languages, so they cannot understand or convey their messages. As a result, misunderstanding is inevitable, followed by a feeling of being ignored and other negative moods. According to the University of People, 60% of the immigrants have reported depression and homesickness when they reside in a new country. Those mental illnesses can, without doubt, take its toll on people's daily activities and productivity.
In conclusion, I am convinced that staying abroad with foreign language can pose certain problems including the risk of being attacked and the experience of alienation and struggling.
