The charts compare between Germany and France which generate electricity from all resources, including conventional thermal, nuclear, and renewables in 2009
Overall, the biggest proportion in all types of sources in Germany was conventional thermal and nuclear in France. Meanwhile, the renewables were Biomass and hydroelectric.
Moving to a detailed analysis, in 2009, the total electricity generated in Germany was 560 billion kWh. There was 59,6% of generated electricity from conventional thermal while electricity generation of nuclear power was only at 23%. Meanwhile, the percentage of renewable sources were approximately 17%; to be specific biomass and wind were at around 30%, hydroelectric and solar were under 20%, and geothermal was 0%.
Meanwhile, France had 50 billion kWh difference of total electricity generated from all types of sources with Germany. Over half of all resources power was nuclear. The figure for generated electricity from conventional thermal was about 10%. Nevertheless, over 10% of electricity generation from renewables power included hydroelectric, wind, biomass, solar, and geothermal, roughly 80%, and four last resources were lower below 11%, which Hydroelectric became the highest proportion in renewables.
