You recently stayed in a hotel in a large city. The weather was very unusual for the time of year and the heating / cooling system in the hotel was quite inadequate.
Write a letter to the manager of the hotel. In your letter:
give details of what went wrong
explain what you had to do to overcome the problem at the time
say what action you would like the manager to take

Dear Mr. Thomas,
I am writing this letter to express my dissatisfaction over inadequate services I received during my stay last month.
I visited Beijing last month and stayed in your hotel for one night and I had been allocated room on the top floor. Room was very hot and even I changed the temperature of the air conditioner to maximum cold, I was feeling very hot. I had to call reception in middle of the night for help and technician was sent after half an hour. Technician after checking said that there is no issue with the machine and nothing can be done. When I asked the receptionist to change the room, she expressed her helplessness by saying that all other rooms are fully booked. Finally, I had to open windows of the room to get some fresh air in to sleep well.
I sincerely request that in hot weather like June, hotel should not allocate top floor rooms to visitors or change current cooling system to install more effective one. I hope your hotel will take immediate action on this to avoid any inconvenience to future customers.
